Eighty blocks containing 536 sites were selected to be sampled with Spherical/Satellite array, bandit reels, and CTD during daylight hours. Individual sampling sites were supplied prior to sailing. Mapping was conducted at night at randomly selected areas near the following or previous day's sampling.\r\n \r\n \r\n NOAA Ship Pisces conducted a survey of reef fish on the U.S. continental shelf of the Gulf of Mexico using a custom-built spherical stereo/video stationary camera systems and bandit reels. The ship's EM2040 multibeam echosounder system was used to map predetermined targeted areas on a nightly basis to improve or increase the reef fish sample universe. A patch test of the EM2040 multibeam echosounder was conducted before transit to the sampling area.
