AEA\\u2019s interest in the project is to obtain biomass\\nresource information in part to determine the feasibility of supplying woody biomass to\\npeninsula communities. Ionia a small residential treatment facility located on 160 acres is\\nadjacent to Kasilof. It looks to expand its use of biomass through the installation of additional\\nsolid wood Garn heating units. Seward seeks to heat several school buildings that are co-located\\ntogether with biomass. It has not decided what form the biomass will take. Additionally, the\\ncommunity of Homer although not currently proposing a biomass project is not served by natural\\ngas and may benefit from the use of biomass resources. These three communities are analyzed\\nfor a potentially operable biomass supply. Information contained within this report will aid AEA\\nand DOF in forest planning activities as well as identifying suitable biomass resources. State\\nlands that are included are classified in the Kenai Area Plan for a broad range of land uses\\nincluding forestry (Table1). Lands classified for other uses are generally available for forestry\\nbecause much of the area has been impacted by the spruce bark beetle. Timber harvest on these\\nlands is generally viewed as a way to conduct forest rehabilitation with the intent of establishing\\nnew regeneration. The inventory comprises a total of 83,178 acres and summarizes field data\\ncollected during the summer of 2011. A total of 46,780 acres of timberland are present on this\\nland. Total volume of these stands is 30,422,585 net cubic feet, 567,642 net tons and 96,755,359\\nnet board feet (Table 2). \", \"distribution\": [{\"@type\": \"dcat:Distribution\", \"accessURL\": \"https://data-soa-dnr.opendata.arcgis.com/documents/SOA-DNR::kenai-inventory-2012\", \"format\": \"Web Page\", \"mediaType\": \"text/html\", \"title\": \"ArcGIS Hub Dataset\"}], \"identifier\": \"https://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=022d76e93f7640abab299a5ea23c8d0a\", \"issued\": \"2020-06-23T16:37:30.000Z\", \"keyword\": [\"BUMO\", \"Inventory\", \"Natural Resource\", \"Report\"], \"landingPage\": \"https://data-soa-dnr.opendata.arcgis.com/documents/SOA-DNR::kenai-inventory-2012\", \"license\": \"<p style='margin-bottom: 8px;'>The Alaska Division of Forestry &amp; Fire Protection does not guarantee the accuracy of the data.
