<gco:CharacterString>This feature class contains On-Site Sewage Disposal System points for the state of Hawaii extracted from the state's tabular Individual Water System (IWS) database as of January 2022. The locations are plotted using the centroid of the TMK in which an IWS is found. This extract tends to be more up to date than the county-level OSDS (one-time spatial data creation by DOH) because the status of the IWS is updated, but the spatial locations may be less accurate.\n\nThese features are incorporated in the U.S. EPA Region 9 Hawaii Wastewater Mapping application, a user interface mapping tool to help manage the Large Capacity Cesspool Program compliance and outreach efforts and assist with inspection targeting in Hawaii.
