This database also contains water cation and anion data for recent AVO studies. This website allows users to query the database and return datasets as fully-documented .html or .csv tables. It is our intention to update this dataset as new volcano-related geochemical data is published.
\n<purpose>The DGGS Volcanology Section conducts geologic studies of active volcanoes and provides this information, along with volcano monitoring observations, to both scientists and the public, in a web-based, searchable format allowing for rapid, interagency, fact-based decision making to efficiently communicate volcano hazard information and science to a worldwide audience. GeoDIVA maintains complete, flexible, timely, and accurate geologic and geographic information on Quaternary (Pleistocene and younger) volcanoes in Alaska. This data supports scientific investigation, crisis response, and public information in a dynamic, digital format. GeoDIVA is the most comprehensive and up-to-date source of information for Alaska volcanoes available. This database is also the back-end of the public and internal websites of AVO. GeoDIVA has been developed in modules and grows by continual feeding of new data into existing modules and by episodic surges of growth as new modules come on line. The Alaska Volcano Observatory Geochemical Database module was released in 2014 as Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys Digital Data Series 8.</procdesc>\n<procdate>2014</procdate>\n</procstep>\n</lineage>\n</dataqual>\n<spdoinfo>\n<direct>point</direct>\n</spdoinfo>\n<spref>\n<horizsys>\n<geograph>\n<latres>0.01</latres>\n<longres>0.01</longres>\n<geogunit>decimal degrees</geogunit>\n</geograph>\n<geodetic>\n<horizdn>North American Datum of 1983</horizdn>\n<ellips>GRS 80</ellips>\n<semiaxis>6378137</semiaxis>\n<denflat>298.257222101</denflat>\n</geodetic>\n</horizsys>\n</spref>\n<eainfo>\n<detailed>\n<enttyp>\n<enttypl>AVO Geochemical Database</enttypl>\n<enttypd>The Alaska Volcano Observatory geochemical database is a web based application that contains published whole-rock geochemical data for Quaternary volcanic rocks in Alaska.
